Словарь и Змей -Горыныч
Други отдали мне за ненадобностью словарь. Листаю, натыкаюсь на слово "змей", читаю переводы:
-Serpent,
-Воздушный змей: Kite
и вдруг
-Змей- Горыныч (!!!ну-ка ну-ка): Many- headed dragon.
Не, по -моему, должно быть не так. Персонажа "Колобок" мы бы транслитом перевели 'Kolobok', Змея- Горыныча тоже надо не обидеть и не лишать аутентичности. Zmey Gorynych? Serpent Gorynych? Или Gorynych the Serpent? Он же должен внушать ужас.. Незнакомое для иностранцев трудночитаемое слово Gorynych должно с этой задачей справиться!:)

Amazing synonym discovered:)
Ни с того, что называется, ни с сего, стала перебирать в голове синонимы к слову «волшебник»- маг, факир, ведун, колдун, шаман, знахарь, алхимик, кудесник, звездочет.. «Чудесарь» как-то само явилось. Стало интересно- откуда я могла его узнать, где прочитала? Пошла в гугль. Выяснилось, что гугль такое слово знает только однажды. В етом стихотворении:
Мироокий чудесарь

Мироокий чудесарь
мановел скрижалями времени.
Ударил посохом в неба гонг,
и утравное, днистое, вечеравое
сыпалось звездами ему на ладонь.
Равновеликие восход и закат
лежали на чашах весов перед ним,
попеременно перевешивая друг друга.
Он всё смотрел, и вздыхал, и понять не мог:
какое из солнц тяжелей.
